About This Site

So what is this site all about?

Mainly, this site is a self-indulgence. I'm a web developer by trade, but I've gone way too long without ever having put together a personal website. Recently, I decided it was about time I changed that. I have a lot of interests, probably some that people that know me don't really know about. So this is my way to be able to tell everyone who I am.

I plan to use this site as a blog of sorts. Occassionally, if I have an opinion on something going on in the world that I have an interest in, I'll post about it here so I can get it off my chest...good thing I'm self-employed. I can complain about my job all I want and I can't get fired.

Please note the site is still very much under construction.

Cool new patch collection website

Category: Scouts

While looking up some patches on I stumbled upon a link for a new scout patch site. PatchLodge is a great new site for archiving a personal patch collection (or collections) without the need to host your own galleries.

The PatchLodge allows you to upload your own images, assign tags (keywords) to those images and even save specific tag searches as galleries, both public and private. You can even save other people's pictures into your own galleries if you wish (with credit to the owner).

I have been helping the programmer test new features as he adds them to the site (including the ability to replace an image you uploaded with a better one). The site is coming along great, and I can't wait for it to become a mainstream source for patch collectors.

Here's a few of my patch galleries on the site:

Timuquan Lodge 340 flaps
West Central Florida Council CSPs
1989 National Scout Jamboree items

These aren't complete collections, only what I have in my possession.
